Letter From the Mayor

Welcome RAGBRAI riders to Stuart, Iowa, home of 1700 Good Eggs and a few stinkers.  While you are here, you can stop in for a tour of our historic Rock Island Railroad Depot and our beautifully restored Saints Center, rebuilt after a tragic arsonist fire.  Be sure to stop by the site of the First National Bank, robbed by Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in 1934 and get your picture taken with likenesses of the two infamous outlaws.  While you are here, enjoy listening to two bands and trying your hand at some games (beer pong, Jenga, horse shoes and checkers) as you feast on food from our numerous vendors.  Thank you for stopping in our small town and enjoying its amenities.  I hope you will enjoy your stay and have a safe trip on your trek across Iowa.

Sincerely,

Mayor Dick Cook
