The Stuart Chamber of Commerce runs this website for the businesses and residents of Stuart, Iowa. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and how to reach us about it. We keep it short on purpose.
What we collect and why
Member accounts and listings. If you register for an account or claim a business listing, we store the name, email address, and business details you enter so we can show your listing in the directory and let you manage it. Your business listing is public. Your login email is not shown publicly.
Contact forms. When you send us a message through a form on this site, we receive what you typed, including your name and email address, so we can reply. Forms use Google reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha to block spam; those services check that a real person is submitting the form.
Newsletter. If you sign up for the Chamber newsletter, your email address is stored with Beehiiv, the service that sends it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Site traffic. We use two tools to understand how the site is used: Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics. They tell us things like which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. Ahrefs Web Analytics sets no cookies and collects no personal data. Google Analytics may set cookies; you can block them in your browser without losing anything on this site.
Other services on the page. Listing pages load maps from Mapbox and fonts from Google. Some pages embed videos from YouTube. Those companies may record that your browser loaded their content, under their own privacy policies.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information. We don’t share it with anyone except the services named above, which we use to run the site. We don’t send you email you didn’t ask for.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete your account, your listing, or any message you sent us. Email stuartiowachamber@gmail.com and tell us what you’d like changed or removed. We’ll confirm when it’s done.
Changes
If we add a tool or change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
